英検新形式直前対策。海外講師が添削した英文要約を公開します。英文要約問題の対策にお困りの方必見。

当校では2024年5月より始まる英検新形式の英検２級、準１級、１級を目指す小学生・中学生・高校生に英文要約問題を指導しています。

今回当校での英文要約対策の取り組みのご紹介と共に英検公式より公開されている英検２級の英文要約問題出題例に取り組んだ受講生の海外講師による英文要約添削を公開します。

当校での指導方法

Step1. 日本人講師による指導

英文要約問題に初めて取り組む生徒様の中には「どう手をつければいいかわからない」「一人で進めるのは不安」といった方もいらっしゃいますので、当校では日本人講師が次の点についてアドバイスをしながら英文要約の進め方を指導します。

• 英文内容を理解しているかの確認
• Thesis Statement（重要な主題）の見つけ方
• 【帰国子女インターナショナルコースの方】各パラグラフの重要箇所を抜き出す
• 【日本語での指導をご希望の方】各パラグラフを日本語でまとめる

上記アドバイスを元に英文要約の前段階の下書きを作成します。

Step2. 要約作成と日本人講師によるアドバイス

Step1で作成した下書きを元に英文要約を書いていただきます。

その際日本新講師が次の点についてアドバイスします。

• 【単語数が足りない場合】要約含めたほうが良い本文中の表現はどこか？
• 【単語数がオーバーしている場合】パラフレーズ（言い換え）や単語の抽象化、または代名詞への置き換えなどで意味を変えずに単語数を減らせないか？

Step3. 海外講師による添削

各生徒が書き上げた英文はすべて海外講師により添削されます。

添削基準は次のように３段階に分けて各種色分けしています。

 黄色背景  文法的な間違い（軽微な修正必要だが意味は十分伝わる）

 オレンジ背景  意味は伝わるが不自然な英語表現（修正することで読みやすく伝わりやすい英文に）

 ピンク背景  意味が伝わりにくい表現（修正することで大幅に文章の質が向上）

また海外講師から自然な英語になるようなアドバイス（赤ペン添削）の修正案が書き足されるため、受講生はそのアドバイスを元に最終版を書き上げる形となります。

小学６年生（英検準２級取得済み）

These days, some of them college students choose to live in a shared a house with roommates.

Because, Some An advantage of sharing a house is that students can get a lot of knowledge plenty of assistance from their roommates, whether it's for their studies or household chores.

On the other hand, sharing a house could be challenging because, if who one of them stays up late at night and watching TV, it this can be noisy and make it difficult for the others to get enough sleep.

小学４年生（英検準２級取得済み）

Recently some students are choosing the house have been choosing to live in shared housing with roommates. If we have roommates, we can learn or to speak a foreign language, and they can tell an or receive helpful advice on homework. that is good at. And they will watch TV long time. Then some students not looking TV canˋt sleep. And they need to spend time to clean their house.

Some students stay up late watching TV, which can disturb their housemates. Cleaning is also neglected by some of the students in shared housing.

小学３年生（英検準２級取得済み）

These days, some of the college students choose to share a house with roommates. It is because some students have the a roommate who is good at some subject and, can help them to do a with their homework.

In contrast, some students can't sleep well because of their it's noisy flatmates, who stay up late watching TV. Another disadvantage is that sometimes or they have to clean the house by themselves because the other students do not do any housework.

Some college students choose to share a room with a roommate instead of living with their parents. One reason they choose this is because students can help each other with their weak subjects to assist each other with their academic weaknesses. On the other hand, there are people who have different lifestyles, and the other person's life will be disrupted. However, it's important to consider the disruptions that may arise when two people with different lifestyles share a space.

中学３年生（英検２級取得済み）準１級要約のプレステップとしての取り組み

Sharing a room has its good points and bad points.

A good point is we could give advice to each others. Also, we could learn foreign languages from other roommates.

The bad points is could be that at night some roommates will may watch TV with big loud sound so we couldn't won't be able to sleep well, And or maybe some roommates will not help clean the room.

まとめ

英文要約では重要箇所を踏まえて書き上げる必要があるものの、生徒様毎に書き上げていただく英文は様々です。

指導する上で重要なことは、「模範解答を目指す」ような型にはまった指導ではなく、「生徒様の英文の質を上げるにはどうしたらよいか」という点を重視することです。

一生懸命書きあげて頂いた英文をより高いレベルに引き上げるため、当校では日本人講師と海外講師が協力してサポートさせていただいております。
